Your final project makes up 70% 80% of your grade, and your participation the remaining 30% 20%.

Final Project (80% of grade)

Your Final Projects makes up 70% 80% of your grade. We will assess it on five competencies, each aligned with specific ABET requirements:

  1. Accessible Implementation - Apply WCAG 2.1 AA standards in your prototypes
  2. Inclusive Person Centered Design - Base design decisions on first person perspectives
  3. Accessible Communication - Create accessible documents, presentations, and posters
  4. Design/Disability Justice - Enact positive disability principles in your design
  5. Inclusive Experiments - Consider accessibility, ethics, and power dynamics in research

For many of these, you will have a chance to revise your written work and project to reflect feedback on these competencies. There is often less time for some (such as Accessible Implementation, which can only be assessed after you have a working interface).

Participation, Effort and Teamwork (20% of grade)

We understand that engagement looks different for different people. We use Engagement Points to capture this. One important way to show engagement is to consistently be present in class. Throughout the quarter, there will also be other opportunities to earn engagement points. Some things can also pull down your engagement, such as not showing up for your team consistently.
