Practice
Learning how to program involves a lot of practicing how to program. In CSE 160, part of this practice (in addition to lectures and sections) takes place on Monday practice days and through the weekly practice assignments.
Practice Days
During practice days on Mondays, we’ll focus on applying the new concepts from the previous week’s lectures to longer and more challenging problems on paper and on JupyterHub, getting you ready for upcoming homework assignments and quests. Some of these problems will be pulled from the week’s practice assignment, so you might be ready to submit a completed practice assignment by the end of class on Monday!
You’ll earn 1 practice point for each practice day you participate in.
Attendance at the corresponding practice day is not required to earn credit for submitting a practice assignment, and submitting the corresponding practice assignment is not required to earn credit for participating in a practice day.
Practice Assignments
Practice assignments are intended to bridge the gap between the introduction of new concepts in lecture and the application of these concepts to the homework assignments. Each assignment will consist of three problems, which will often emulate the types of questions you can expect to see on quests and the final exam (some of them are even based on past exam problems).
You’ll earn 1 practice point for each practice assignment you submit with at least 2 correct solutions.
Practice assignments will be linked here as they are released.
All assignments are due on Fridays by 11:59pm Seattle time. Late submissions are not accepted.
