Storyteller Project, Part A

Write your story and highlight key words

1. Open storytellerForm.html in NotePad2 or TextWrangler..
2. In Code View or in a text editor, find the end </form> tag. Immediately after </form>, add start and end <p> </p> tags.
3. Between the <p> and </p> tags, type or paste a brief story of about two paragraphs. It could be the plot of a funny movie, something that happened to you last weekend, one of your algorithms from Worksheet 2, or two paragraphs of a classic fairy tale from Project Gutenberg.

Example:

Last Saturday, I rode my bike to Mercer Island with my friend Mike. It was fun. On the way, we went through a park and stopped to watch some girls playing lacrosse. Lacrosse is a fascinating game. Then we saw a man walking his cat! The weather wasn't bad. A few clouds, but not much wind. When we rode over the bridge, some seagulls flew overhead crying at us. The ride took 2 hours and we were exhausted by the time we got home.

Make sure your story has these two features:

1. At least one word that is capitalized in one place and not in another (in this example, "lacrosse" is used twice, but only capitalized once: lacrosse and Lacrosse)

2. At least one reference to a group of people or a person who may be male/female/other so you'll need to use the appropriate version of "he/she/they", "hers/his/theirs" or "him/her/they"? (in this example, the man is walking his cat).

4. Go back to the Catalyst WebQ and answer Questions 5-8.

Now that you have your story, and your highlighting class, you are ready to select your key words...
