Homework #2

Download the file, modify it and upload it on the other operating system

1. Open an SFTP program on this new computer:

   Secure FTP on a PC

    

   Fetch on a Mac (a little info about opening applications on a Mac can be found here)

    

...and connect to your account on Dante (you can review the information in Lab 2 to remind yourself how to do this).

1. Download Hw2.txt


2. Open a text editor (reminder about text editors)


3. Add the following information:
   • The name of the text editor you are using
   • The name of the browser you are using.
   • The name of the operating system you used for this question (i.e. “Windows XP”, “Windows Vista” or “Mac OSX”)
   • Some comments about which operating system you preferred and why.
   
   
4. Save the file and upload it to the fit100/hw2/ directory


5. Go to http://students.washington.edu/yourNetID/fit100/hw2/ (replace “yourNetID” with your UW NetID). You should see your file listed there.


6. Final step: Upload a copy of this file to the Catalyst Dropbox
