Covid 19 Policies
Note These policies are designed to reflect the current guidance provided by the University, and are subject to change as we get more information.
Per university policy, we’ll be conducting class with an in-person component for many of the the main class sessions. Office hours will continue to remain on Zoom.
If you are sick, or think you likely have been exposed to COVID-19, please do not come to in-person class. Let the course staff know via email before class starts, and we can work with you to get you the information you missed and answer any questions you may have.
The UW has indicated that the university-wide mask mandate will be lifted with the start of spring quarter. Students are still encouraged to wear a mask if they would like, and many participants in the class will likely be masked.
Social distancing is not currently required, but if you would feel more comfortable with more space, please politely ask your neighbors to leave space open and try to sit in the less crowded edges of the room. We have been assigned a large classroom space that should make it easy to maintain social distancing.
See this UW FAQ on what you should do if you get sick or have been exposed to COVID-19. We hope that most students’ needs will be covered by the course’s general late days policy, but let the course staff know if something exceptional has happened.
If one of the TAs or Matt gets sick or has a likely COVID-19 exposure, we will move the relevant sections or classes temporarily online. Your health is extremely important to us, and we will not risk exposing the class in that case.
