Design Process
The first step in the design process was a project proposal that observed the need for
good human-centered design in interactive computer systems and solved commonly encountered problems. Eight of thirty-five
proposals were selected to move forward as projects.
The team spent time interviewing clients and answered basic questions about how clients would accomplish tasks using the system. We then brainstormed and storboarded three designs and put together an initial design proposal.
The final step of the design process was to build an interactive prototype. Before building the interactive prototype, we built a paper prototype for usabaility testing. The results of the usability testing helped us to refine our design for the interactive prototype. The interactive prototype serves as the basis for further testing and refinement or as the basis for an implementation effort.
