Is neuronal computing Turing uncomputable?
Given that...
- We can represent all neuronal information using discrete symbols
- A finite set of information variables
- Neural processing elements (neurons) can only destroy information
- Regardless of the functions they compute
It is unlikely that animal brains perform computations not expressible with Turing machines
- Always a chance, but the odds are against it
We will call the brain a computing machine
- And try to understand how it computes
