Resources

Reading

  • Relevant chapters of the textbook, Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach by Russell and Norvig, are linked from the course calendar.
  • For topics in deep learning not covered by R&N, we’ll turn to Dive into Deep Learning (“D2L”) by Zhang et al. The textbook has online and PDF versions, as well as code snippets implementing examples in Python.
  • Introduction to Artificial Intelligence by Sharma, Hug, Liang and Zhu is an online textbook companion to UC Berkeley’s CS 188, on which CSE 473 is based. You’ll find a lot of the same topics in a condensed format and with notation and diagrams similar to those we use in class.
  • Other reading provided on an ad hoc basis will be linked from the course calendar.

Past Exams and Quizzes

Past offerings of CSE 473 have had different assessments (quiz vs. exam) at different points during the quarter and have covered slightly different content. A sample of previous assessments are provided for your benefit, but do not expect this quarter’s work to look precisely like past examples.
