Representation of Factored Expressions

• We will use a DAG

• Primary inputs are inputs to the DAG

• Primary outputs are the outputs of the DAG

• Each node in the DAG is a “simple” function

  • at most a 2-level expression

• Our goal is to transform the DAG into a new one that is:

  • cheaper
  • faster
