§1.49 Class InstantiationError

public class java.lang.InstantiationError
    extends java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError (§1.48)
{
    public InstantiationError();	§1.49.1
    public InstantiationError(String s);	§1.49.2
}
The Java runtime throws an instance of this class if the application tries to use the Java new construct to instantiate an abstract class or an interface.

Normally, this error is caught by the compiler; this error can only occur at runtime if the definition of a class has incompatibably changed.
