Checkerboard Balls
</COMMENT>

Description

This one can be somewhat disorienting. Try zooming out until you can see the three floating balls (lights). The red is the ground, and the blue is the "sky". Be careful not to rotate yourself under the ground; it can be hard to find the scene again. The image was raytraced at an unusual angle, which is why you come into the scene somewhat sideways. If you zoom out and orient yourself to the ground plane, the traced image will be tilted.

This scene is good for looking at shadow rays, and how they are blocked by other objects in the way. You can also make some cool designs with all the internal reflections in the main ball.
