How we designed Cabin

The Design Process

User Group and Problem Space

After discussing various user groups, such as drivers, commuters, long-distance travellers, pilots, we decided to focus on truckers, specifically tackling issues regarding relationships and social networks.

User Research

We interviewed 3 truckers with different amounts of trucking experience and different relationship/family statuses to explore our problem space and hone in on what problems we aim to solve and what tasks we want to improve.

Initial Design

After brainstorming multiple designs, we settled on the house and truck model design and storyboarded different use cases and created paper prototypes.

User Testing

We tested our paper prototypes with heuristic evaluations and usability tests, which revealed some flaws and gaps that prompted various changes and improvements to the design.

Final Design

With several revisions from our initial design and paper prototypes, we generated our final design and prototype.
