Creating your own parts library can be benificial, you will probably find that you use
several parts frequenty. By putting the most frequently used parts in a seperate library
you will save time by not having to search through long lists of parts to find what you
need, also it is a good place to store parts that you create.
To create your own parts library follow the steps below:
- Right click on the parts menu and select new
- Choose a name and save your parts library in your student directory on the Z: drive (not on the local drive).
To add parts to your library, follow the steps below:
- Right click on the library and choose maint.
- Set the destination library to your library
- Set the source library to the library you wish to copy from
- Click on a part in the source and click copy, repeat for as many parts as you wish.
- Click done when you are finished.
To later open your parts library, follow the steps below:
- Right click on the Parts List Library window and select Open.
- Browse to the path of your directory where you
saved the parts list libary file *.clf.
- Double click that file.
