Where did you grow up? What was your academic path?

I grew up in Sammamish, WA - about 30 minutes east of UW! I graduated with a UW CS degree in 2018, and have since been working on my master’s (also in CS).

What was your first exposure to computer science?

I first took a CS class in high school. I took it mostly to prove to my parents that I wouldn’t like CS! Clearly, it didn’t work out the way I planned.

What gets you most excited about computer science?

There are so many different facets of computer science, which means there’s always something to learn! I love that CS can be applied to tons of disciplines and leaves a lot of space for creativity. My favorite part of programming is thinking about how to best design a project to be long-lasting and easily modified.

What are some of your hobbies, talents, and skills?

Outside of school I love hiking, baking, running, skiing, reading, and gardening! I recently baked my first successful loaves of sourdough bread, and am working on planning my garden for the summer. Ask me about my current book club book 🙂

What will be consuming your time this quarter?

Of course a large chunk of my time will be taken by school and TA work. I’ll hopefully also have time to go skiing and try some new recipes!
