In this Homework assignment, you will be introduced to the differences between a PC and a Mac.

You will be creating a file (Hw2.txt) with a MacIntosh or PC and the modifying it with the other. You’ll create and edit the file using plain text editors (editors that don’t allow you to do anything fancy like changing font size or color).

You will store the file on the UW network. (To get it there, you’ll use a secure file transfer program (SSH on Windows, Fugu on MacIntosh).

Both Windows and Macs are available on campus in the general-access computing labs:

• Mary Gates Hall (Computing Resource Center on the first floor)
