For this, we are using the Altera DE-1. We are not using the onboard D/A converter, however. Part of Project 2-a is to build your own D/A converter.


To read about building an R-2R ladder DAC, read here. Note that we will not be using the output opamp (the triangle with the + and - in it in the figure on the link). Instead, we will be using a drive chip on the inputs, and properly sized resistors, to achieve the desired output voltage. As shown in class, take the last resistor (2R shown connected to Vout in the figure), and connect your output just *before* this resistor (the same terminal connected to "-" in the figure).
