A 17: [Tell me how you’re doing.] Are you anxious, stressed, and frustrated with FIT100? Or maybe you’re elated, ecstatic, and totally cool with FIT100. We’re just past the middle of the term and I’d like your honest opinion of how things are going for you. Please send me one or two sentences (or more if you are so moved) from the following Anonymous site. Thanks!

A 14:  [Commenting.] See the brief discussion of commenting programs.

A 13:  [Correction to Project 2A.] In Step 3 of Project 2, Part A, you are asked to space the items like the picture. This only works for the Safari browser. If you use some other browser, simply center the controls.

A 12:  [Lecture Revision.] A slight change has been made to the calendar. Friday (2/3) the lecture will be Iteration, and Monday (2/6) the lecture will be Functions. The change was needed so you have the knowledge to solve Project 2, Part A. THE READING HAS CHANGED, TOO!

A 11:  [Project 2.] Project 2 has been posted.

A10:  [Midterm.] Midterm1 will be in class on Friday. Review questions have been posted.

A 9: [Project 1 Part B due.] Project 1, Part B is due at 11:00 PM (23:00) on Wednesday, January 25, 2006.

A 8: [Volunteer Urgently Needed!] I have been asked to make this announcement:

"Disability Resources for Students (DRS) is looking for a notetaker for
this class to assist a student who is unable to take complete class notes
because of the effects of a disability.  They have asked me to make an
announcement to request volunteers, as a notetaker has not yet been found.
At least two notetakers are needed; a primary who would be able to copy
his/her notes once a week, and an alternate who would be on standby as a
back-up notetaker. The time commitment is minimal, but the difference it
makes for the student is significant. DRS pays for the photocopying and
will provide a letter of recommendation for your volunteer hours.

If you are interested in volunteering, or if you have any questions,
please contact DRS for more information. They are located in Schmitz Hall,
room 448. You may call DRS at 543-8924 or email them at
uwdss@u.washington.edu. Thank you for your consideration."

I am hopeful a few good people will contact DRS. Thanks.

A. 7: [Project Part A Due Friday.] Part A of Project 1 must be placed in the correct location in your Web space by 5:00 PM (17:00) Friday, January 20.

A. 6: [Missed Lab] If your lab was canceled because of MLKing Jr Holiday, attend a Tuesday (17 January) Lab.

A. 5: [Homework Due] Homework 2 is due by 5:00 Thursday 12 January 2006.

A. 4: [Podcast of FIT100] FIT100 is now available for your listening enjoyment by podcast. After each lecture a link to the lecture’s RSS file is posted. You can listen to it on your computer by clicking on it. Or you can automatically subscribe to the podcasts by following a simple procedure, and you can find answers to frequently asked questions.

A. 3: [Survey Error] Students who added FIT100 late (after January 4th) may get a “Permission Denied” error on the survey. If this happens please send your name, student ID and clicker serial number by email to snyder.

A. 2: [Clicker Survey] Please reply to this survey to give the serial number on your clicker.

A. 1: Tuesday Labs Canceled: Attention, students whose lab section meets on Tu/Th. The January 3rd Lab will not meet, because we have not yet had the first lecture.

A. 0: Welcome to FIT100! This page is just coming up, and most links do not yet work.
