Face covering guidance:
At UW
Face masks became optional starting March 28. Some details from
the
UW
face covering policty:
- Face coverings are required indoors, regardless of vaccination
status, for the following: ... Personnel and students who have
tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in close contact with
someone who tested positive.
- Face coverings are strongly recommended indoors during the first
two weeks of spring quarter (March 28 through April 8), regardless
of vaccination status.
- After April 8, face coverings are recommended
indoors.
- People may have personal reasons to wear a face covering at any time.
At Microsoft
With Governor
Inslee’s
recent
update to indoor masking guidance, Microsoft’s face covering
guidance for Washington State worksites remains mostly
unchanged. However, one change is that
vaccinated guests and
vaccinated Microsoft hosts will not be required to wear a face
covering at our workplaces starting March 12.
Guests
(non-Microsoft personnel) should
use HealthCheck
to upload proof of vaccination. We continue to follow OSHA face
covering recommendations for the workplace.
- Individuals who are fully vaccinated aren't required to wear
face coverings indoors at our workplaces in Washington State unless
they are on company transportation or within a healthcare setting. Any
exceptions or updates to this guidance will be noted by onsite
signage.
-
Per current guidance for Microsoft worksites in Washington State,
any unvaccinated employee or external staff with an approved
accommodation, or any unvaccinated onsite guest must continue to wear
a mask onsite. If there are changes made to this requirement, we will
communicate to employees as soon as possible.
-
Anyone is welcome to wear a face covering as this measure reduces
transmission of not only COVID-19 but also the common cold and the
seasonal flu. We support anyone who chooses to wear a face covering
onsite and expect individuals and teams to be supportive of this
personal choice.
