nSHA-1 was designed by the US Government as part of the Digital Signature Standard.
nSHA-1 is the most-commonly used hash function today.
nIt’s the hash function in which we have the most faith right now.
nSHA-1 takes any size input and produces a 160-bit output (the digest value).
