I see the CFC system discussed in this paper as an improvement on PAST
- more consideration is given to efficiency, load balance and, since
stored files are split to the block level, utilization problem is
diminished.
CFC system is structured in 3 layers: Chord - the lowest layer
efficiently routes blocks to nodes, DHash layer is essentially a huge
hash table is responsible for blocks storage and FS layer provides
interaction with the client.
I liked this paper a lot - it's very well written and again, the
priorities of the system are better aligned with the reasonable
expectation.
