In this paper dated 1994 the authors discuss an approach to implement
lightweight system that would extend transaction primitives on top of
virtual memory. This system, which they called RVM, would then provide
low-end applications a very simple way to achieve crash recovery.

I liked this paper - I think it's value lies in the realization of the
fact that such CS-advanced features like transactions processing may be
very well simplified and presented as an integral part of the operating
system or even a user-level library and consumed "en-masse" in order to
increase reliability of the simplest of the applications.
