Viewing 584 Netshow programs from the PML
If you are planning a trip to a Sieg Hall Windows NT lab to view a CSE 584 Netshow program, there are a few things you should know:
1. You should bring headphones, as there are no speakers in the lab
2. The Windows Media Player installed in the NT labs is currently an old beta. It works, but does a few confusing things, particularly with the standard web interface which we use for the 584 lectures. You should be able to successfully view the programs from IE either by using the new links in the lectures page which invoke the program without the frames-based web interface, or by using the standard web interface, and declining at the prompt offering to download a new ActiveX control. You will not be able to install the updated media player yourself, because it requires an administrative privilege.
The next lab software image will include a more current version of the Media Player
