Support Hours and One-on-Ones
Support Hours
Support Hours (sometimes abbreviated "SH" or "OH") are a great place to get help on homework, clarification on concepts introduced in class, or meet other students. They are held in the MSDS common space and are hosted by one or more staff members. This quarter, all of our support hours are in-person-only.
One-on-Ones (aka "1-on-1s" or "1:1s")
If you can't attend a support hour or you need to discuss something privately, you can request a 1-on-1 with the staff. Please submit a request in advance (>2 days); it may take some time for us to respond and process your request. As you might expect, requests sent two hours before an assignment is due is unlikely to be fulfilled by a student's standard of "in time".
To request a 1-on-1, please send us a private message on Ed. Your request must contain:
- The staff members you are comfortable meeting with
- A 1-2 sentence description of what you'd like to discuss
- A 1-2 sentence description of what you'd like to discuss
- Recall that these time slots must be >2 days in the future
