Abstract

With every passing day finding content on the Web becomes easier thanks to advances in search technology, but there are still very few tools that aid people in collecting, organizing, and repurposing content they find on the Web. Today one can use bookmarks, look at the browser history, create new composite documents, or simply print everything. My work focuses on lowering the user overhead for managing Web content. In this half-hour presentation I will briefly present two new research directions -- graphical tools for authoring personal dynamic views of the Web and task based search via Web macros. We will spend the majority of the seminar brainstorming possible approaches and applications.
