The UW and Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute are leading the way to the next step for oceanography - fulltime cabled observatories that constantly monitor the oceans. This new way of exploring our oceans leads to several challenging UI and visualization problems as they try to make sense of all this new information. This talk will cover work with these groups to build a graphical system for viewing and exploring the data as well as for designing and managing these systems. A demo of the current system will be included in the presentation.
