CSE590D: Computer-Based Learning Environments
TOPIC: The main topic for Winter 2010 is the design of
software and systems to support learning and problem solving.
The aspects of the topic we actually cover will depend on
the interests of the participants, and are expected to
include support for collaborative problem solving, tools
for learning and teaching mathematics, open educational
assessment with intelligent agents, and technology
for teaching collaborative design.
TIMES: Mondays 4:00-5:00 PM.
PLACE: CSE 624 (The "Noe" Conference Room)
FORMAT: We usually read one research paper or book excerpt
per week. Participants take turns leading the discussion.
We also may do design exercises or evaluate specific software or
websites. Most students register for 1 credit.
ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING: Monday, January 4 at 4:00 PM in CSE 638.
Both new and past participants are welcome.
