The RFID Ecosystem: Exploring the trade-offs between privacy and utility in an RFID enabled world.

by
Robert Spies

Abstract:

As the number of RFID enabled applications grows with each year more and more concerns are raised over the amount of private data this technology makes available. However, there does seem to be a whole suite of RFID enabled applications that many people would consider useful. This talk explores the inherent trade-offs between the utility of RFID data and the privacy of the users this data represents. It also explores the already existing RFID deployment inside the Allen Center and the platform that will be made available for users to explore the capabilities -and pitfalls- of RIFD technology.
