In these cases, why might a using a system like BOINC be better than using a system like MapReduce? 2. The BOINC paper briefly mentions the need for the client to make "accurate and cheat-resistant measurements of the work done by each host." Certainly, preventing cheating on the leader boards is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to avoiding data falsification.
