CSE 490E1 Assignment 7: Project Presentation
In class on Thursday, February 2, you will present your project. Plan
for a 10-15 minute presentation.
This
marks approximately the halfway point of the quarter, so you should be
well on the way to having initial results and should have a solid plan
for successful completion.
Remember the advice on how to give a technical presentation.
Your presentation should cover everything that one of your classmates
would need to know in order to understand, evaluate, and give feedback on
your project. This includes, for example:
- motivation: What is the problem? Is it an important problem? Is it
a hard problem? How do people deal with it today?
- approach: How will you solve the problem? How is this different from
previous approaches? Why does it have the potential to be successful
where others have not been?
- research questions: What are your hypotheses? What information will
you try to gather? What metrics will you measure? How are those related
(whether directly or indirectly) to the real-world problem?
- preliminary results: What have you learned so far? What was
unusually easy or difficult? Are there specific challenges that you are
worried about, and why? What do you know today that you wish you had
known a month ago?
- related work: Who else has addressed this or a similar problem, and
what were the outcomes? How is it similar to and different from your work?
Submit slides in your choice of format to

If it's a proprietary format, bring your own laptop to class, with an appropriate connector.
