Demo Day - June 4th, 2024

Welcome to Demo Day - June 4, 2024 for the Spring 2024 AR/VR Capstone!

Our students will present their AR/VR projects from this past quarter in the Allen Atrium at Allen Center.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear masks. Headsets (Quest 2 and Quest 3) will be sanitized between every use.

Time: Tuesday, June 4th -- 4:30pm-6:30pm Pacific Time
Location: Held in the Allen Center for Computer Science & Engineering
Description: Come try seven new AR/VR + AI applications and meet the student developers! Each project has a space in the Allen Atrium of the Allen Center and all applications were developed by the students of the 2024 AR/VR Capstone class

Team Projects

Team 1: TrashBash

  • A trash sorting game that takes you through different parts of the life of trash. We also hope to shed light on some issues when it comes to trash management.

Team 2: DeckTalk

  • We present DeckTalk, a VR app that enables users to practice giving talks in virtualized environments to an AI-powered audience that asks unique, targeted questions. In addition to a realistic presentation experience, DeckTalk will also generate a graded evaluation based on verbal and non-verbal information to help users hone their presentation skills.

Team 3: GAWLF

  • GAWLF is a multiplayer mixed-reality minigolf game. Randomly generate courses within your live space, and play them with your friends! A snarky AI commentator will live commentate your games.

Team 4: Room Designer

  • Room Designer allows people to explore and interact with various pre-generated rooms. They can walk around, spawn objects, resize and move objects, change the color and material of objects, and more.

Team 5: Cat-astrophe: Lost in Translation

  • Cat-astrophe is an immersive VR language learning game where the player is in a foreign town, has lost their cat, and must interact with locals to gain hints and find it. Player interactions with characters include scored, AI-powered pronunciation and reading/translation tasks in Spanish, and players can explore the town to expand their Spanish vocabulary of common objects.

Team 6: KitchenLens

  • An AI-powered cooking experience. Walk through a recipe with the guidance of your own kitchen assistant, learning as you go!

Team 7: AI Alibis

  • Inspired by "Knives Out," AI Alibis places players in a high-stakes mystery where they must investigate the murder of wealthy businessman Alexander Augustus on his luxurious yacht. As the lead investigator, you'll interrogate four main suspects, explore their rooms for hidden clues, and access interactive notepads to track your discoveries. Can you uncover the truth behind Alexander's death?
