Since there are a small number of students in the capstone this time, the Lab hasn't installed all of the UrbanSim software on the undergrad lab machines. Instead, we can arrange for students to use one or more machines at the Point 5 lab. (You can also remote log into these.)
We will set up a subversion repository for teams to use to share code during development. We can also ask Support to create a shared directory on /projects/instr for teams that want this.
UrbanSim runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux; and all of the needed packages are open source, so that you can install them on your own machine if you have one. You'll probably want a machine with decent performance.
The UrbanSim project lab is just off-campus on the Ave at Point 5. We've got some extra space, and teams that want to work at Point 5 are welcome to do so. We can set you up on some machines and give you keycards to come and go when you want. The advantages of working at Point 5 would be easier access to the course staff for questions, plus it's quiet. The disadvantage is it's off-campus.
