  • Lots of industry support
  • Well-understood protocol stack
  • Existing applications easy to port (due to IrCOMM, etc.)
  • Interoperability
  • Low power

• Disadvantages:

  • Growing number of specialized protocols
  • Limited range
    • “Point-and-shoot” model prohibits certain applications
