CSE477 Workload and Grading
Workload
This is a capstone design course and your entire grade is based on your
project experience. However, there are many elements to your project:
- Leadership
- Participation in discussions
- Technical competence
- Resource for other students
- In-class presentations and design reviews
- Documentation
- Project brochure
- Retrospective on design experience
- Judgment and ability to make intelligent tradeoffs
Your grade will reflect the combination of these elements as perceived
by the instructor, TA, and your fellow students (both within and outside
your group). Yes, you will provide feedback to me on your team members
in quite some detail as well as others who may have helped you during
the quarter.
With the projects being highly individualized to each group, it is
difficult to estimate not only what the workload will be but also whether
it will be balanced among the groups. Please let us know if things
get out of control and are not appropriate for a capstone 5-credit
course by using e-mail or the anonymous feedback
form and explain which parts of the course are causing you to spend
too much time non-productively.
