Readings

The (required) readings are PDF files provided by the instructor. Recommended supplemental reading can be found in: Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach (Prentice Hall) 3rd edition.

Evaluation

The grade will be based on a combination of the homework (exercises and programming projects), the midterm, and the final. Roughly 60% homework, 10% participation, 15% quizzes, 15% final.

Late Problem Sets

Late problem sets may be turned in until the homework is graded and returned. 10% off per day late.

Late Programs

Late programs can be turned in until the "Late Deadline" given. There will normally be a penalty of 10% per day late.

Cheating Policy

Collaboration is a very good thing, but cheating is considered a very serious offense. Please don't do it! The individual work you turn in should not look like anyone else's. Concern about cheating creates an unpleasant environment for everyone. If you cheat, you risk losing your position as a student in the department and the college. The department's policy on cheating is to report any cases to the college cheating committee.
