  • Less wires
  • No skew concerns
  • Needs synchronization
    • Clock recovery, handshaking, or similar

• Synchronous: Common clock

  • Needs clock wire
  • Issue of skew between clock and data
  • No synchronization overhead
  • Appropriate for tightly coupled systems (CPU and memory/disk)
