As several students have pointed out, the Fishnet 3 assignment doesn't
describe in much detail what should happen to tear down the connection.
The assignment implies you can shut down the connection as soon as you
send or receive FIN; we will accept this interpretation of the teardown
protocol for this assignment, as well as more sophisticated
interpretations. However, what are the issues with this? Why might it
cause problems with, for instance, a file transfer application? Be sure
to address your implementation of connection teardown in your design
document.
We'll work together to address any lingering interoperability issues for
the final assignment.
Cheers,
Janet
