It took me longer than I expected to transfer files to my iPAQs. I hope
it will be easier for you (with a more recent software install), but do
allow some time for this.
If you also run into trouble loading files, here are a few more things to
try:
- Make sure again you are in managed mode.
- Run "ifconfig eth0" and check the IP address. If it starts with
192.168, this is a self-assigned IP address; no one else will be able to
see your iPAQ. Your mission is get a DHCP address assigned to the iPAQ.
- Try switching to adhoc mode and back to managed mode again.
- If this doesn't work, try ejecting the network card using the icon in
the taskbar. Then physically eject the card using the nearby button and
put it back in.
- You can also check to make sure dhcpcd is running ("ps ax | grep dhcp").
If not, type "dhcpcd eth0" or reboot.
In the end, I had the best luck by rebooting, switching to adhoc mode,
then switching to managed mode and going from there.
Good luck!
Cheers,
Janet
