Motion Capture Procedures @ the Mo-cap lab

Captured data: video sample: coming soon

I.                   Workstation.

A.  Remember to reconstruct the data

II.                IQ software.

  1. open .enf files

1.      should be a calibration and motion file

2.      right click -> open cap Data -> .TVD file

  1. Raw Data ->3d Workspace
    1. post process -> pipeline -> circle fit reconstruct

a.       right click, edit option

b.      Main Camera Trajectory – 0

c.       Main camera Construct – 0

    1. Show Adv. Parameters

a.       Min circle diam – 0

b.      Max circle Diam – 100

    1. right click->run select operator

  1. <Subject> create generic subject (.vst) -> TKM
    1. Template: human RTKM_v1   (this template requires 41 markers.  It needs to be modified if there are a different number)
    2. Name:  bob (or whatever is appropriate)
    3. Hide subject from view

  1. <labeling>
    1. find a good t-pose (look for a frame with all the markers
    2. 41 markers is good

  1. <Modes>
    1. Rules (sequence -> whole)
    2. Labeling: LFHD (left front head)
    3. Click on correct corresponding points

a.       c7 = neck

b.      t10 = lower back

c.       wrist ‘A’ is on top

d.      LToe = Big Toe

e.       Lmt5 = left 5th toe (marker on the right on the left foot)

  1. <pipeline> Trajectory labeler -> Edit options
    1. Show advanced
    2. min trajectory length In frames -> 2 -> OK
    3. Run selected op min trajectory
    4. Now check the motion makes sure it looks good

  1. <Subjects> Events [g] [t]
    1. T should show up on timeline
    2. Calibrate subject….and wait
    3. now you have a .vsk file (before it was a VST)

  1. Data Management
    1. right click raw capture data
    2. select new motion file with bob (or whoever you are working with)

  1. Pipeline
    1. 3d workspace
    2. circle fit reconstruction (main camera traj. 0, main cam construct 0, advanced op. min circle diam – 0, max circle diam 100)
    3. run selected op.

  1. Subject
    1. Import calibrated subject VSK
    2. bob vsk

  1. Pipeline
    1. run trajectory labeler

  1. Labeling
    1. scroll through and look at motion
    2. find unlabeled points(markers) and select highlighted label which is unused which name corresponds with the unlabeled marker
    3. drag select to delete garbage markers, however you can remove all unlabeled markers when you export

  1. Pipeline
    1. Export data to 3cd file options

a.       export start frame (unless  you have a selected area you want to export)

b.      export end frame

c.       export unlabeled trajectory – no

d.      Run selected op (now we have c3d)

    1. Run kinematics fit
    2. view the subject now and check out skeleton
    3. add op to pipeline (+) button.
    4. select the export data to csv file (using a double click) then Done
    5. Run Export Data to CSV op.

  1. Extra stuff
    1. Modifying template

a.       modeling

b.      open vst (human RTKM_V1.vst

c.       now selct and delete marker from the template until your marker match

d.      save as a new template

e.       in post processing remove any subjects with the wrong template, (select active subject, then remove subject with wrong template)
