Class notes on shots, Thursday, 6/1
Shot 4
- Raise girl's eyes more. Her eyes need to look into grandpa's eyes more directly.
- When girl is looking at grandma, the grandma should stare at grandpa at that moment.
Shot 7
- When girl walks out of the scene at the end, her arms are a little stiff. Need more shoulder and torso movement.
- Unfold her fingers when embracing herself, or put one arm over the other.
Shot 10
- Girl should turn first before leafman tries to walk in front of her.
- Slow down leafman's spinning somewhat.
- Girl should react to leafman with excitement rather than being shocked to show she's not scared.
Shot 11/12
- Girl's posture looks too good after she stops running and starts walking. Have more secondary shoulder movement independent of torso.
- Need shoulder movement when turning her head.
Shot 15
- Tree could move a little when girl touches it.
Shot 17
- Girl drags her left foot a little more than needed. Need minor adjustments.
Shot 19
- Girl's shoulder movement should look more like a breath, not a shrug. Reduce shoulder movement so it's very slight and subtle.
- Timing is perfect.
- Girl could move head a little backwards while breathing. Move camera back a little to show it more.
Shot 19a
- Move camera back a little to match shot 19.
- Reduce girl's shoulder movement also.
- Too much pause between closing her eyes and her moment of resolve.
- Eyebrows should move faster at the end. Also, she flares her teeth at that time, which shows her breathing (make it more obvious?), but could be timed differently (low priority).
Shot 26
- As girl pets feather, left arm should start moving up sooner (as soon as it's seen).
- Girl should feel the feather upwards rather than downwards.
Shot 29
- Other than elbow pops, looks great.
- Extend her holding the amulet by 2 seconds.
Shot 34
- Show more weight, and represent pressure of hand on clay better.
Shot 35
- If we take out the title tree, we could put in rocks embedded in the ground.
