Class notes on sound & music, Thursday, 5/18

A school of music concert with computer-based music. Last year's animation film will be featured. 8 p.m. in Meany Hall. Tell them you're a CSE490ca student to get two tickets for the price of one ($4).

Issues:

Have special effects sound in addition to music? Not much, and not literal sound effects.
Don't necessarily need a melody, but absolutely need a score.
When girl enters the forest, percussion should be more frequent, added with accent.
Can use accents to focus and make music less monotonous.
When girl was running away from the altar, music wasn't intense enough to match her mood.
Why not add a wind instrument?
Need more music references, and the story needs to be shared fully with music people to help them understand the girl's mood and match the music accordingly.
