Story Track Reel Reference

Use sequence titles from premier file provided by Danny. Line up sequences as best you can but you no longer need to be concerned about being perfectly aligned. Be close but not perfect.

Lighting

  1. Try for a Consistent Look -- Use swatches and photos/vide clips for each Sequence.
  2. Swatch colors should support the mood of the sequence or portion of the sequence
  3. Photos, concept art, video clips, lighting setups, digital renders, video footage are all ok if they progress logically.
  4. Watch “Visions of Light”.
  5. Justify your color and other light choices in writing by supporting their role in enhancing the story. The group needs to send me email with a list of each sequence number and a justification.

EFX

  1. Try for a Consistent Look
  2. Provide enough video footage in the correct place in the story to provide a logical progression for us to follow.
  3. Be experimental. Try some new ideas for us to see and review.
  4. Follow the story
  5. Justify your efx choices and provide a justification as to how the effect would enhance the story.

Character Motion

  1. Use the reference reel as reference. Use clips from movies that are acted in a way that supports our story. Try different versions of the same action with different actors.
  2. Watch Rowan Atkinson’s “Physical Comedy”
  3. Research and select a minimum of three famous actors for each of the two men and show them on the reel. Be able to identify how their motion reflects the personalities we’ve identified for these men and send me email with a description of this.
  4. Provide acting reference – facial and full body – for each of the card main characters and provide a justification for how this supports the shot descriptions of these characters in our beat sheet. The group needs to send me email with a list of each sequence number and a justification.

Character Design Reel

  1. Provide images and concept art for both two old men and several sets of cards
  2. Provide concept art and reference images for all main characters including the main characters in the cards. Use the beat sheet as reference for the card characters.
  3. Provide concept art and reference for each of the Elements in the Elements List.
  4. Refer to the style guide provided by the Story Group
  5. Select three actors and provide photos and clips for each of the old man. Identify why their physical attributes support their personality and role in our film and email that information from the group to me when the reel is submitted.

Story

  1. Develop Story Bible and Sequence Shot List and Style Sheet and Elements List
