Seven Steps

Once upon a time, there was a malicious bus driver.
And every day she would act rude to passengers and mess with traffic in her bus, relishing in her control.
Until one day, a very old woman took a very long time to get onto the bus.
And because of this, the bus driver was even ruder to her than usual, jostling the old woman around like a rag doll, bumping her into other passengers, etc.
And because of this, the old woman pulled the emergency stop cord, stopping the bus and rolling her to the front of the bus, her briefcase of papers exploding everywhere!
Until finally a file with the bus driver’s face on it falls in front of the bus driver, and the old woman stamps a big red “X” onto it.
And ever since that day, the grouchy bus driver has had to ride a bus she is not in control of.

Outline

There once was a bus driver who LOVED her bus, and the control it gave her. Unfortunately, she was insanely rude and malicious to anyone but her beloved bus. She would swerve to hit cats, close people’s jackets in the bus door, and drive away even when she could see people running after the bus. There was also a frail old woman, who happened to be a bus evaluator. The old woman always took her time to enjoy the good parts of life, like resting on a bench and eating a cookie.

When these two women met, chaos ensued as the horrible bus driver got even angrier than usual as the old woman took her time getting on to the bus, and slowly dropping in every coin of bus fare. In retribution for making her wait, the bus driver sped away, throwing the old woman from side to side and all over the bus! The old woman was slammed into one of the poles and as the bus driver careened on two wheels around a corner, the old lady was finally thrown into the wall where she managed to grab the emergency stop cord.

The bus driver slammed on the brakes, hurling the old woman rolling down the center aisle where she landed, sprawled, at the front of the bus. Meanwhile, the sudden stop had caused the old woman’s briefcase to go flying and explode all her papers into the air, where finally one paper in particular smacked onto the glass in front of the bus driver’s face. As the bus driver realized that the paper in front of her was her own bus driver evaluation, her expression changed into one of shock and horror. But the old woman had no sympathy for her, and forcefully revealed her golden bus badge to prove her authority over the bad driver. Finally, she snatched the paper off the window, and stamped a big red “X” onto the bus driver’s evaluation.

Ever since that day, the spiteful bus driver has been even more ill-tempered as she is forced every day to ride a bus that is not in her own control. She still gets off on power-trips by pushing aside those who are smaller than her, but now she is the one who gets thrown into the front windshield as the driver slams on the brakes…to avoid running over a cat.
