Was once well known for his perfect glass instruments, back in the days when the glass-blowing scene was huge. Nowadays he’s still the man
When it comes to glass-blowing but the there is not much of a glass art scene anymore.
He is a widower, his wife died 15 years ago of a disease.
No kids.
He is a glassblower in the 13th generation. His forefathers owned the shop before him. Since he has no kids he needs the apprentice to pass his knowledge to the next generation, like his father did to him.
He makes enough money for living and has some savings.
Classical Music
Food:
Follows the food pyramid except for his ravenous appetite for a special
Chocolate he allows himself to eat as some kind of reward in the evening, after he finished all his work
- Neat, clean, buttons every button on his shirt.

No.
He wants to make sure the tradition of his way of glass making will survive him. Desperate about he will be the last of his family.
Best part: Finishing another perfect piece
Worst part: The apprentice is not listening to him and his advice well
enough and sometimes doesn’t follow his instructions
Thinks he is talented. He would go fishing with the apprentice on a holiday.
The apprentice reminds him of himself when he was the apprentices age (subconsciously)
Knows all the people in his small town and is well respected by everybody. Goes to the local brewpub for 3 beer every first Friday of the month.
Something about the relationship to his father (ideas please)
When he won the most important award in glass blowing 50 years ago (when he was the apprentice’s age) (the award is the only thing on the shelf that is not supposed to be dusty)
His father.
Likes to sit on a bench in front of hit shop on sunny days and smokes a glass pipe of apple tobacco. The pipe was made by his forefathers and he keeps it in a tiny shrine in his bedroom.
He wants people to think that he is the best in what he does. He creates the most beautiful glass art.
No.
- His fathers pocket watch
- A handkerchief to polish a piece he just finished
Unexpected change
Creating a piece of glass in the right way
He doesn’t: If he had time to think about things, that means he is not doing what he is supposed to do – create perfect glass…
- when angry/scared: physically
- what makes him angry/scared: unexpected change
- when attracted to someone: respect/understanding
- What does he find attractive: when people do their jobs as well and diligent as he does. When people think he’s the best at what he’s doing (thinks these people have good taste)
- When desperate: finds something to do. Most likely starts another glass piece
- What makes him feel desperate: When he has no work to do/no plan
