Lab Resources

This class requires the use of Unity and JetBrains Rider. All course projects use Unity version 6000.0.42f1 LTS. You can install both on your personal laptop (recommended) by following the instructions in Project 1: Modeler.

We recommend using JetBrains Rider as the primary IDE for all course projects. Students can sign up for the free JetBrains Student Pack to get Rider at no cost.

While you are free to use any IDE or code editor of your choice (e.g., Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio), please note that course staff support is limited to JetBrains Rider and Unity.

Alternatively, you can use the Windows lab computers in any of the undergraduate computing labs (Allen 003, Gates 110, Gates 124, and Gates 129) which come pre-installed with Unity and JetBrains Rider. There is also a Mac available in Allen 003 with the required software installed.
