We implemented autopaint (both normal/randomized and multiresolution per painterly) as well as curved brushes following the image gradient. This painting was created using 3 autopaint passes; one with large points at low alpha, one with lines at higher alpha and slightly randomized angle, and one with multires curved brushes at high alpha to create the tree trunk outlines.
