i wrote the ray file by hand in a text editor using previous quarters'
ray file reference pages as a guide.
the saucer consists of six spheres.  the main sphere is scaled ellipsoidally,
while the remaining five spheres are scaled uniformly.
i added the second saucer by cutting and pasting the code and translating/rotating
it to a different location.  the "planet" is just a sphere.
