Homework 1 Corrections and Clarifications
- There was a flaw in the diagram for problem 5b. The corrected version is show below.
- NOTE: In lecture, one of the slides shows a shape made from solid lines being transformed into a shape with dotted lines. In problem 5b, you are asked to go the other way: from the dotted shape to the solid one. Sorry for the confusion.
- In problem 5c, the equation of a plane is stated to be (using notation that I trust you can decipher):
\hat{n} \dot \vec{x} = d
Note that \vec{x} refers to an arbitrary point, and the set of \vec{x} that statisfy the equation must lie on the plane in question. If it helps, you can replace the symbol \vec{x} with \vec{p}.
