ACT I |
1 |
LS of the monastery. |

A group of monks working
on their chores in the courtyard. |

Several monks stop and
look at a nearby window, showing disapproved expression. |

1 |
Ni,
the protagonist, is in the room of which the window was previously
being looked, studying vigorously. |
|
1 |
Working monks outside can
be seen through the open window, and Ni is clearly annoyed by the noise
made by working monks. |
|
1 |
Suddenly, the
noise becomes unbearable because a monk in need is yelling for help. |
|
1 |
Ni stands up and shuts
the window with annoyance. |
|
1 |
Outside,
the monk boss is observing everything, pondering. |
|
ACT II |
2 |
A boy monk comes into
Ni’s room and whispers something to Ni. |
2 |
Ni looks worried and
heads toward monk boss’ room. |
|
2 |
Ni arrives in the solemn
room, and monk boss calls his assistant monk to take out two ancient
scrolls. |
|
2 |
Assistant monk opens the
two scrolls, revealing the pictures of a mountain and a splendid Lily. |
|
2 |
Leaving for his mission,
Ni heads out to his quest of Lily, taking the scroll with him. |
|
2 |
Monk boss oversees Ni’s
departure. |
|
3 |
On the bottom of the
mountain pass, Ni encounters an old woman and
the old woman asks for help. |
|
3 |
Ni watches and hesitates
for a while, but at last decides not to waste time and continues his
journey. |
|
4 |
Ni finds the legendary
Lily in a cave and plucks it. |
|
4 |
On his way down the
mountain pass, the Lily starts to wilt due to lack of water in a rather
rapid fashion. |
|
4 |
Ni, scared and worried,
runs with all his might to the well, only to find the rope hanging broken. |
|
4 |
A petal falls
into the well, wrinkling the water, and Ni sees his own reflection in
the well. Quick flashbacks of the old
woman asking for help forms in the reflection. |
|
4 |
Regretting,
Ni runs with all his might toward the monastery. |
|
4 |
As Ni runs into the
monastery, he sadly watches the last petal of the Lily drops. |
|
4 |
Monk Boss watches without
a sound. |
|
ACT III |
5 |
Ni, putting the remaining
Lily stem on his desk, goes to bed, and spends a sleepless night. |
5 |
Next day, Ni tries to go
back to his regular study routine, and ignores other needing fellow
monks. |
|
5 |
When he heard one of his
fellow monks yells out in need of help, Ni hesitates, looks out of the window, and then turns back to
his desk, and his eyes meet the remaining Lily stem. |
|
5 |
Ni stands up and heads
out of his room to help his fellow monk. |
|
5 |
Monk boss watches all
these, and smiles. |
