CSE 456 - Story for Digital Animation

    Assignment #5B
This week you will produce a first version of a 3D animatic for your story Picture Perfect using the Cinematic Sandbox. You will be expected to use all of the pre-production work you've done so far on the story ( armature, 7 steps, beatsheet, sequence and shotlist, thumbnails, character design notes and adjectives, etc. as support and use it to create four complete sequences and save them out to a file that we can run in the sandbox. You may decide to use FRAPS software along with Adobe Premiere to edit and adjust your work as needed.

Thursday of this week ( July 14) we will do a "work in progress" review and next week you will be asked to pitch your story using the cinematic sandbox so be sure to practice.

In class and Lab demos this week will cover all of the necessary technical information you need to complete this assignment.

Be sure to:

Select an Picture Perfect audio clip of 3 minutes and have it added into your working file.
Use FRAPS when you need to record your work and edit it in Premiere.
Use all of the characters in the story
Use the most important poses you can find, and apply them when they fit.
Rough out and create props and a basic set. Be very basic and simple.
Use the storyreel I provided as reference whenever it helps you. You may decide to use the storyreel to help you rough out the space or the action.
Remember to be as clear and as simple as you can and use all of the options in the Cinematic Sandbox to assist you in telling your story visually.
Remember to use the Golden Rule and also to use what you learned about cinematography in Visual Storytelling to help support your story.
Experiment! Usually it will lead you to a better solution.
