CSE 456 - Story for Digital Animation

    Assignment #5A
What you will need to bring to class this coming Tuesday ( July 12) and what you will be doing - so prepare :

1. A printed sheet that has your thumbnail drawings on it -- each thumbnail drawing will have a number below it so we can follow it together and will be formatted to be read left to right. Bring a printed copy for each member of the class plus the staff (approx 30?) You can use color or some other drawn icon to distinguish one character from the next but you will need to make sure which character we are looking at in each of your drawings. You should expect to draw at least one thumbnail per beat. Remember to draw clearly and consistently and to edit out unimportant things. Your drawings should illustrate as best you can where the characters are in space and what the story goal of the shot is. Use your notes from the session with Derek to guide you through as well as your texts and our class discussions. Meet up with your group members if you can.

2. You will also need to bring in THREE copies of your MOST CURRENT beatsheet, your most current armature/seven steps and the title Picture Perfect clearly seen. One of these copies will go to me, one will go to Brian and one will go to Gary S before you pitch.

3. You will be expected to pitch your story using your thumbnail drawings as a guide. You will be given 1 1/2 minutes to pitch your story. You will be timed so please practice before Tuesday and get to know your thumbnail drawings really well.

MAKE SURE TO PUT YOUR NAME AND ASSIGNMENT # 5A on your work. Thank you.

Also, here's a template for you to use for the thumbnail drawings if you need it:

You can find it under templates on the front of your course web too.

Good luck and have fun!
